Southampton will play next season in the Championship after Saturday’s 2-0 home defeat to Fulham confirmed their relegation.
The Saints lasted 11 seasons in the Premier League, enjoying consecutive finishes of eighth, seventh, sixth, and eighth between 2014 and 2017. Southampton developed Virgil van Dijk, Sadio Mane, Adam Lallana, Danny Ings, and numerous academy products into prominent top-flight players during their stay in England’s first tier.
