The work on transfers has already started at Bayern Munich. The Bavarian club is expected to be one of the busiest clubs in Europe during this window. Along with signing players for big transfer fees, Bayern is also likely to explore the market for free agents.
The record Bundesliga champions have already clinched a deal for RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer. The Austrian midfielder will arrive in June when his contract at Leipzig comes to an end. He is currently focussing on the DFB Pokal final against Eintracht Frankfurt before completing a move to Bavaria.
The Bavarian club has also been linked with Borussia Dortmund’s Raphael Guerreiro. The Portuguese full-back confirmed his departure from Dortmund at the end of last week. Guerreiro will be leaving Dortmund on a free transfer after spending seven years at the club. It does look like he will not say no to joining Die Roten.
According to Sport1, Raphael Guerreiro is open to joining Bayern during the summer transfer window. The Portuguese full-back is a direct replacement for Joao Cancelo in the squad since both can play in multiple positions across the pitch.
Guerreiro also has experience working under Thomas Tuchel. The duo worked together at Borussia Dortmund a few years ago. He is also coming off an incredible season with Dortmund, providing the most assists in the Bundesliga. Along with assists, Guerreiro has scored crucial goals for Dortmund this season and remains a threat from set-pieces.
The 29-year-old defender will compete with Alphonso Davies in the left-back position. He can also play in the left-midfield and left-wing if needed. He will also need very little time to adapt at Die Roten. The Portuguese full-back is familiar with Tuchel’s philosophy, and he is used to playing in the Bundesliga. It will be a very sensible transfer if Bayern manages to pull it off.
Meanwhile, Sport1 also reported that Die Roten might be open to signing Cancelo if Manchester City is ready to negotiate a lower fee. The Portuguese full-back will return to Manchester City since Bayern decided against taking the option of signing him permanently for €70 million.

Cancelo is a brilliant player, and he showed glimpses of his talent during the loan spell at Bayern. However, Die Roten needs to spend money on a striker and holding midfielder this season. From a financial point of view, signing Guerreiro will be a much better option than Cancelo.
