Our predicted MUFC XI for the FA Cup final vs Manchester City is now in…
Well, here we go. The FA Cup final is almost upon us, with Manchester United looking to win their second piece of silverware of their debut season under Erik ten Hag.
The opponents? Manchester City. They’re in the hunt for a treble so they’ll be more than up for this fight, too.
We have to be honest. They have more quality and are further along in our project. United will have to play at 100% in order to have any sort of chance at winning this game. I fully trust that the gaffer will have his side ready to do just that.
Ahead of the game, Anthony Martial has been ruled out with injury, leaving United a man light in a key area of the field. That also gives the gaffer a real selection dilemma to contend with.
Anyway, enough chitter chatter, let’s get right into our predicted United line-up for this huge fixture.
Check out our predicted MUFC XI vs Man City in full here:
David de Gea will obviously start in between the sticks, with the Red Devils desperate for a huge performance from the superstar Spaniard.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s ability to neutralise any player in a 1v1 matchup could be critical here. That battle with Jack Grealish is one our guy must win. Luke Shaw starts off the left-hand side. Victor Lindelof will play, with Raphael Varane completing the back four.
Casemiro’s experience and winning mentality could be key in this midfield battle, with Fred likely to be preferred ahead of Christian Eriksen, purely to do a man-marking job on Kevin de Bruyne. Bruno Fernandes will bring the creativity.
We’ve gone for Wout Weghorst up front. His work ethic and ability to press from the front feels like the smart play. To his right and left respectively is a pair of Englishman in the form of Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford.
Come on you Reds!
