Mason Mount has agreed to a contract with Man United, with the Red Devils now set to submit a formal offer to Chelsea.
Manchester United, over the last few years, have been pretty slow movers in the transfer window. Often, the Glazer family have taken things far too casual, until the end of the window approaches.
Erik ten Hag, in line with continuing this positive mantra here in Manchester, is looking to buck that trend. The Dutchman has identified targets, whom he clearly asking the club to get signed early.
Mason Mount absolutely falls into that bracket. The transfer links to the Englishman only started last week. Those rumours are picking up pace – and quickly.
Last night, talkSPORT gave another update on the situation, with their sources bringing some important information to the table.
Apparently, the 24-year-old has ‘agreed contract terms’ with United, as the club are now set to submit a formal offer to Chelsea.
Mount, who is about to enter into the final year of his deal, has been a fantastic servant to the London club. However, it looks as though he’s ready for change.
A switch to Old Trafford would be a positive career move for the boyhood Blues fan, with Ten Hag a manager who can get the absolute best out of the Englishman.
Negotiating this deal with Chelsea is not going to be easy. They’re going to demand a pretty huge fee for Mount. Whether or not United will be willing to pay their asking price remains to be seen.
There can be no doubt that this would be a positive signing for the Old Trafford side if they can somehow pull it off.
