Man United boss, Erik ten Hag, is in regular contact with possible striker signing, Rasmus Hojlund.
Harry Kane rumours have been pretty prevalent in the media over the last few weeks. It makes sense, he’s a huge name and Manchester United are desperate for a striker.
Plying Kane away from Spurs is not going to be easy, with Erik ten Hag also keeping tabs on other potential options.
One man who is being eyed as an alternative is Rasmus Hojlund. The young Atalanta striker is making a real name for himself over in Italy, while also earning Denmark caps.
It’s the Manchester Evening News who are providing the latest on the Hojlund front. They claim that Ten Hag has held ‘multiple’ video calls with the 20-year-old transfer target, who is viewed as ‘attainable’.
The striker has scored 15 goals in all competitions for Atalanta this season, with the Dane earmarked as someone who United could move for, assuming Kane isn’t allowed to leave Spurs.
The young man is someone who has huge potential. He could lead the line for the next decade, though I wonder whether he has the skills in his locker to come in and make an impact right now – which is exactly what United need.
Perhaps Ten Hag’s thinking is that, he had this United side in a good place utilising a Wout Weghorst who didn’t score a single league goal for five months. You’d expect Hojlund will contribute more than that initially, while continuing to grow and develop as a player.
United would also get younger at a real position of need as suddenly, this squad is an ageing one.
The report also claims that United are continuing to monitor Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kolo Muani.
