Man United are hoping to reach a Marcus Rashford contract agreement ‘quickly’.
As we all saw, Marcus Rashford was absolutely back to his best in 2022/23. All he needed was a manager who fully trusted in his abilities, while keeping away from the treatment table.
Manchester United have a gem in the form of their homegrown hero, though his contract status still leaves us all feeling a little worried…
Rashy has a deal that expires in twelve months. For all the talk about a new contract, nothing is concrete at this stage. The expectation has always been a deal will get done. However, the longer it drags on, the more concerning it becomes.
In a recent article about the top six club’s summer transfer window, ESPN‘s Rob Dawson provides a small update in regard to a new Rashford deal.
He states that United are hoping to reach a contract agreement with the key star ‘quickly’, ideally before the first international break of next season.
That takes place in September. To me, four months is not quick…
By that point, the crows will be circling, with Rashford just a few months away from being able to speak to overseas clubs about signing for a European giant on a free contract the following summer.
The longer United leave it, the more precarious the situation becomes.
Right now feels like the time to strike. United had a good season. Rashford had a great season individually. Get him to commit while he’s happy. You never know, the Reds could start next term poorly, leaving Rashy in two minds.
The ball is firmly in the player’s court right now, which is never ideal. I understand his desire about wanting to wait until new owners are in place, though the longer United leave it, the more it’ll cost them.
