Man United want to be kept in the loop in regard to the future of Brighton midfielder, Moises Caicedo.
Last night, we covered the latest as Manchester United look to pursue Mason Mount. The Red Devils, and the player, are keen on the move. However, the club and Chelsea remain apart in valuation.
Sky Sports News ran a similar story on Mount over the last 24 hours. We’re not going to bore you with those details. Instead, they also added a snippet of information in regard to a potential United move to sign Moises Caicedo.
The Brighton man enjoyed a pretty sensational season for the Premier League club, including bossing United on more than one occasion.
Caicedo is named as one of the targets United could move for, if a Mount deal doesn’t happen. The Red Devils have held a ‘long-standing’ interest in the young man.
The club have also asked to be ‘kept informed’ on any developments regarding the 21-year-old’s situation.
As you’d imagine, Caicedo is attracting interest from some of Europe’s top clubs. United, seemingly, are among the potential suitors.
Caicedo feels like the perfect long-term replacement for Casemiro, though the man from Ecuador will not come cheaply. Brighton have shown themselves to be superb negotiators in the selling market. They have their asking price. They will not budge from said price.
I’d be surprised if Caicedo doesn’t cost in excess of £75m for the eventual winner of his signature, given his age, contract status and talent.
Does United really have that much of their budget to spend on a midfielder? Particularly when the goalkeeper and striker position both feel like bigger needs right now.
