Man United could move for Leeds United defender, Robin Koch, on a free transfer.
Manchester United Football Club are seemingly in the market for a new centre-back of some description this summer. Erik ten Hag has searched far and wide for a new third or fourth option.
It looks as though Harry Maguire is possibly on the way out, though he’s doing his utmost to keep his place at the Theatre of Dreams. I don’t blame him at all…
The weirdest rumour we’ve had so far is a potential move for Leeds United’s Robin Koch. The German is out of contract this summer, so he’d cost nothing.
Kicker have provided a fresh update on Koch’s future. They claim that United are ‘intensively considering’ a move to sign the 26-year-old free agent this summer.
The Red Devils will face competition from Bayer Leverkusen for Koch, with the Bundesliga club looking for a Jonathan Tah replacement.
Koch’s versatility could be the key reason why Ten Hag is eyeing a move to bring in the German. The fact that he can play in multiple positions, at the Premier League level, makes this an intriguing move.
However, he was part of a defence that shipped goals galore during their Premier League stay. There’s no getting away from that fact.
I cannot help but think United should be aiming higher, but we have to continue to trust in Ten Hag until he proves otherwise.
As the report suggests, it does not sound like a deal is super close right now, though it could be a transfer rumour to keep an eye on as the window progresses.
