Man United will take place in final talks with Chelsea, to make a decision on the future of Mason Mount.
Manchester United Football Club have dedicated plenty of their time this summer to trying to sign Mason Mount.
Three bids have been made for the Englishman. All of them have been turned back so far. However, the latest offer remains on the table.
The Englishman has a Chelsea deal that expires next summer, meaning he’d be able to walk away from the Stamford Bridge club for free. That leaves Chelsea with a real decision to make.
Fabrizio Romano has provided the latest information on Mount’s future. He claims that United and Chelsea are prepared for direct contact ‘this week’ to make a ‘final decision’ on potentially signing the 24-year-old.
Apparently, those talks could take up to a couple of days, with the hope that they’ll be an understanding reached with how to proceed with this deal.
United’s £55m bid remains valid, though they will not wait around forever.
It’s blatantly obvious that Mount is the man United want to sign more than anyone. Otherwise, the offer would have already been taken off the table by the Old Trafford club.
£55M feels like an expensive chunk of the budget to bring in a player who’ll be available for nothing in twelve months’ time, which is why I’m still shocked Chelsea have turned it down.
Mount himself is keen on an Old Trafford switch, so I’m assuming that he’ll come here for free next summer if Chelsea do not cash in now.
I actually really like the idea of Mount playing for United. He’ll bring an awful lot of underrated quality to the table.
