According to confirmed reports, Manchester United’s on-loan goalkeeper Jack Butland has decided to move to Rangers in the Scottish Premiership. The English shot-stopper moved to Old Trafford on loan in the January window as a backup for David de Gea.
The Red Devils signed Jack Butland on a 6-month deal from Crystal Palace in the winter transfer window when another loanee Martin Dubravka got recalled by Newcastle United. However, the Manchester side have decided not to extend the keeper’s stay.
Once considered one of England’s top goalkeepers with nine caps to his name, the 30-year-old’s stock plummeted after Stoke City’s relegation from the Premier League in 2018. He joined the Eagles in 2020 but struggled to dislodge Vicente Guaita as the team’s number-one goalkeeper.
Now, as reported by Sky Sports, Jack Butland has signed a pre-contract deal with Rangers FC and will join on a free transfer this summer. The England international will move to Ibrox after the expiry of his contract with Crystal Palace at the end of this month.
