Man United will now know how much it’ll cost to sign Mohammed Kudus from Ajax.
Manchester United have already been linked with what feels like every name under the sun at this point. Erik ten Hag has a list of players who he’d like to sign to improve this playing squad, though the club is yet to deliver a signing.
Mason Mount is one midfielder the club is looking at, though in the event that the Englishman remains at Chelsea for at least another season, other options must be looked at.
Another name the Reds have been linked with is Mohammed Kudus. We covered that claim just earlier this week.
Now, the Daily Mail have run a story on Kudus, predominantly about Brighton’s interest in signing the man from Ghana.
However, United also get a mention, with the club learning how much it’d cost to sign the Reds-linked 22-year-old midfielder this summer.
The Dutch club want £40m to let Kudus leave, with the player emerging as one of the most sought-after talents in Europe after a stunning campaign for Ajax.
It should go without saying that United would have an excellent chance at signing Kudus if they do enter the race. I’d like to think they’d be able to beat out competition from Brighton somewhat easily.
Nothing will happen on this front until a final decision is made on Mount. He’s Ten Hag’s number one option right now and you get the impression the Reds are not prepared to walk away just yet.
In terms of alternatives, the club could do far worse than Kudus, albeit he plays a slightly different role to Mount.
