Man United are preparing a new offer in an attempt to sign Rasmus Hojlund.
Manchester United Football Club have made some decent strides this summer. Mason Mount is through the entrance door. Andre Onana doesn’t seem too far away.
The Red Devils need to press on and continue delivering Erik ten Hag the signings he asks for. We need to trust in the Dutchman to return the glory days back to the Theatre of Dreams.
Next up on the agenda is a new forward. Harry Kane was the number one option. It quickly became apparent that it wasn’t going to happen.
Rasmus Hojlund felt like the back-up target from early on. The Dane enjoyed himself for Atalanta in the Serie A last term. Europe’s big-boys started to take note.
Now, according to journalist Nicolo Schira, United are ‘preparing a new bid’ to submit to Atalanta, in an effort to sign the striker.
According to Schira, Hojlund has already agreed a contract in principle with United, on a deal that’ll run until 2028.
It’s thought around £50m will be enough to sign Hojlund this summer, as United look to find that number nine who’ll gobble up those easy chances when through on goal. Perhaps if we’d have had that striker last term, we’d have been nearer to the top of the table.
Whether or not Hojlund has what it takes to hit the ground running in the Premier League is another matter entirely. He’s still so young aged just 20 and this signing would have to be considered a gamble. That said, the Reds cannot afford to go into the campaign without at least one other striker.
Hopefully, a deal for Hojlund will be reached fairly soon.
