Man United are likely to send Amad out on loan again this upcoming season.
In Amad, it feels like Manchester United have a star in the making. It did take the young winger a little while to come out of his shell, though he looked superb for Sunderland in the Championship last season.
Many just assumed that, as a result of his good form, Amad would feature within the first-team setup here in Manchester for the 2023/24 campaign. Well, that may not necessarily be the case.
According to Football Insider, United will make a decision on Amad’s future in the ‘next few weeks’. Presumably, the winger will feature in pre-season, starting with a game against Leeds United this Wednesday.
According to FI, Ten Hag will have the final say on what happens with Amad.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that the 20-year-old United starlet will find it ‘very hard’ to break into the first-team this season.
As a result, the Reds are ‘expected’ to listen to loan offers for Amad, with several proposals already on the table. You’d imagine a Sunderland return feels like the favourite option right now.
At some point, United just have to make a decision. There’s only so much Amad will learn away from Old Trafford. Ten Hag either has to place real trust in the youngster and integrate him into the first-team. Or, if he doesn’t think he’s good enough, just move him on and recoup as much of the hefty transfer fee, that United paid to sign him, as possible.
You do get the feeling that pre-season could be massive. Amad will likely see very limited minutes during the tour, so he has to be ready to take that opportunity with both hands.
