Man United are set to make their first official offer for Rasmus Hojlund.
Manchester United have made one signing in the form of Mason Mount, while a deal for Andre Onana looks close. Two of the Reds’ big three needs have been secured, though the desire to bring in a striker remains.
Erik ten Hag is desperate for that forward who can guarantee goals. Harry Kane was the dream target. That is not happening. Attention turned to young Rasmus Hojlund, who plies his trade for Atalanta over in Serie A.
Contrary to reports suggesting that a bid has already been made, Fabrizio Romano believes that’s yet to be the case – though it’s about to come.
The Italian states that United are ‘preparing’ their opening bid to sign the striker. On top of that, personal terms are already 100% agreed. He ‘wants’ a Reds move this summer.
United have apparently tried to make a player(s)-plus-cash offer for Hojlund, though they were not interested in all three players who the Reds placed on the table.
In terms of asking price, around £60m should be enough to get the job done, with the next step in the saga believed to be an ‘official bid’.
Hojlund is undoubtedly the player that United are desperate for. He’s young so it would have to be considered a gamble. It’s tough to gauge how quickly, if at all, he’d adapt to life in the Premier League.
Playing for the biggest club in the country is another level of pressure entirely, too. There can be no doubt that this is by far from a home run. However, Ten Hag has not let us down so far, so who are we to doubt his skills in the transfer market?
