Man United remain in contact with Sofyan Ambrabat over potentially signing the midfielder.
Manchester United have already signed one midfielder in the form of Mason Mount, though it looks like Erik ten Hag is still keen on bringing in that second central player.
I’d assume that any other midfield incoming is based on whether the Old Trafford side will lose some footballers in that area. Fred and Scott McTominay are the likely candidates in that regard.
Sofyan Amrabat is the name linked with potentially filling that void. The man from Morocco had a stunning World Cup. He backed that up with an excellent season for Fiorentina in Serie A.
Now, journalist Alfredo Pedulla has provided an update on that front. He states that United are still having ‘contacts’ with the 26-year-old, ‘even in the day’. On top of that, the player has ‘already chosen’ what we’re presuming is a reds move due to the green tick emoji.
Ten Hag has made no secret of the fact he’s trying to make United the best side in the world when it comes to transition play. Amrabat would be another step in that direction.
He’s perfect for this style of play, while Amrabat and Ten Hag have already worked together previously, during their time together at Utrecht.
It all depends on asking price. I’d still assume that a new striker is the number one goal at this stage, as the Reds seriously need someone they can rely upon in that area. We may have to remain patient on the Amrabat front, but the internet definitely feels genuine. Whether or not a move will happen is another question entirely, though I’m quietly positive.
