Fred is a top target for Turkish giants Galatasaray, with the Brazil international set to leave Man United this summer.
Manchester United are undergoing major change both on and off the field right now. The Red Devils are ticking along nicely under Erik ten Hag, with the squad certainly looking in better shape than it did twelve months ago.
That said, there is still a long road ahead for United. More additions need to be made, with squad depth (or lack of) still an issue.
The problem is that United need to generate funds via player sales in order to plug all the holes within the squad. One of the areas that needs work is midfield, with Fred’s name amongst those who has been made available for transfer.
Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the Brazilian’s future, claiming that one club in the form of Galatasaray, ‘remain keen’ on signing him as a ‘priority target’.
Once again, it’s reiterated that he ‘will leave’ United this summer. The fact that he’s not been involved on the US tour definitely leads us to believe it’s trending in that direction.
Fred’s situation has been interesting. The midfielder has blown hot and cold for the Red Devils. When he’s good, he’s excellent. When he’s bad, it’s pretty dreadful. You cannot have that inconsistency at the highest level.
A move to a mid-table Premier League side would have suited Fred, though Galatasaray will offer him the chance to win major honours in a good division. Let’s hope that the deal can be agreed to sooner rather than later, so United can start working on a replacement.
