Man United are still locked in dialogue with Atalanta over the Rasmus Hojlund signing.
Manchester United Football Club have been working hard behind the scenes to bolster their squad this summer. Next up on the agenda is a top tier striker.
The Old Trafford side have identified Rasmus Hojlund as the man who can fill that void, with an update coming daily at this point.
The young man from Atalanta has been impressive over the last nine months, though age just 20, there is risk involved in this possible move.
Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the future of Hojlund – and it’s pretty good news for United.
According to the Italian, United have scheduled a ‘new round of talks’ over the signing.
Romano went on to say that it ‘will happen this week’ after a package bid worth around £51m was made by the Old Trafford club.
A five-year deal has already been agreed with Hojlund, as United remain his priority. As a result the Reds remain favourites to get a deal done despite PSG’s interest.
Hojlund is the man United are after. The club have delivered Ten Hag two top targets this summer. A third and there can be no excuses for the gaffer.
This would have to be considered a gamble, assuming United can pull it off. Hojlund is still so young in footballing terms. He will need time to settle into his new surroundings, while also learning a new way of playing.
If I had to guess, this deal will get done eventually. Preferably before the season starts on August 14th. I’d love to see Hojlund given the opportunity to play in a friendly or two before the serious stuff starts, though that does not look like happening right now.
