Man United are entering into the important period of any Rasmus Hojlund move, with the player still intent on joining.
We’re at the stage where it feels like it’s Rasmus Hojlund or nothing for Manchester United. The Old Trafford side have been heavily linked with a move to sign the Dane.
Right now, the Hojlund updates are coming daily. Fabrizio Romano has been the major source of information. Yesterday, he stated that more talks were scheduled for this week.
In the early hours of Friday morning, Fabrizio Romano took to Twitter again to provide another update. This time around, he claimed that the player ‘wants Man United’ and that has been ‘very clear’ since day one of the negotiations.
Romano went on to add that these ‘final days’ of this week could be ‘crucial’ for the transfer. Again, it’s reiterated United are set for a new round of talks with Hojlund’s current club Atalanta, with the ball firmly in the Reds’ court.
There’s definite intent from all sides to make this transfer happen. United want him. He wants United.
Now, it’s down to agreeing to a fee with Atalanta. The Serie A side are proving to be tough negotiators at this point. Understandably, they do not want to lose their prized asset on the cheap. The fact that Atalanta earned a small fortune from the Amad deal will also be helping them out. They know United aren’t short of a bob or two.
Hojlund is someone who has immense potential, though whether or not he will fulfil that in the Premier League has to be considered a gamble. There’s no guarantee he’ll be able to play to that standard, particularly in the early stages of his time in England, assuming a move happens.
