Rasmus Hojlund has been videoed completing an individual training session at Man United.
Manchester United paid big money to sign Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta this summer, which is why it’s disappointing to hear that he arrived injured. I guess it’s all part and parcel of the sport we love.
The Dane will carry the burden of being United’s number one option in the striker spot when fit, which isn’t easy for anyone – particularly a young player.
His debut will be delayed. We know that. He’s carrying a back injury which is more serious than initially feared. That problem is set to limit playing time, at least in the short term.
Today, Hojlund arrived for what is his first training session with his new club. Sadly, he was not working with his teammates. Instead, he undertook an individual training session as he works his way back from injury.

It is certainly encouraging to see him out there, meaning that he’s not completely unable to move with that back injury. For United, it’s about load management and gradually building up Hojlund’s fitness.
Obviously, that will take time. He has no match sharpness right now and it will take at least a couple of weeks for the 20-year-old to get to that stage. I’d be surprised if we see the Dane in action against Wolves on Monday night. I’d give him a slim chance at being involved for the game against Spurs a week later.
Failing that, the Arsenal game is a genuine possibility. That one takes place in a little under a month from now. Scoring a goal in that game would be a remarkable way to announce yourselves to the Old Trafford faithful.
