Dan Gore may well find himself in the matchday squad for Man United vs Wolves on Monday.
Manchester United are now gearing up for another Premier League season. It’s over a decade since the Red Devils have lifted the trophy, though in Erik ten Hag, there’s genuine positivity around the place.
Wolverhampton Wanderers visit the Theatre of Dreams on Monday evening, with a new manager in place in the form of Gary O’Neill. The Old Trafford club will have to be at their best from minute one.
Ahead of that game, the Manchester Evening News have provided some interesting information about young Dan Gore. The midfielder more than played his part during pre-season, not looking out of place in the centre of the pitch.
Now, due to a couple of midfield injuries to contend with, the United youngster is given an ‘outside chance’ at making the bench for the Wolves game on Monday.
Gore, a talented midfielder, has a bright future within the game. Though he still has that rawness about him. It’s to be expected, given the fact that he’s still only eighteen years of age.
He’s not somebody who I’d expect to play big minutes for the club this season, particularly when Kobbie Mainoo returns from injury in a month or so.
I’d still assume that Gore would be best served by heading out on loan and playing regular football for a full season. That’d stand him in a much better position upon his return to Manchester next summer.
That said, it would be a huge confidence booster for Gore if he does make the bench on Monday. It’d give him that extra belief in his own ability and talent.
