Aaron Wan-Bissaka was the sole Red Devil to be named in the first WhoScored Team of the Week this season.
Manchester United Football Club were pretty poor at home against Wolves on the opening day of the season. The display, as a team, was non-existent at times. The lack of unity and cohesion among the group was alarming. Let’s just hope this was a one-off.
We have to be honest. United were fortunate to escape with all three points. The level simply has to improve against Spurs next week, or the scoreline, quite frankly, could be embarrassing.
From my perspective, there were a couple of standout players. First, Andre Onana. He looked solid in between the sticks. Secondly, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who was defensively superb. He also picked up an all-important assist.
It was the latter who became the one United star to be named in the WhoScored Team of the Week after his excellent individual performance. ‘The Spider’ scored an 8.27 on their metrics, for his brilliance on both sides of the ball.

You have to give massive praise to Wan-Bissaka. It would have been easy for him to throw in the towel after some poor performances about a year ago. Instead, he’s got his head down, worked even harder and forced his way back into the line-up.
Without him, we do not win that game yesterday. He made some huge tackles, then popped up with an inch-perfect assist when United needed it the most.
Let’s just hope Wan-Bissaka will continue to improve after this encouraging performance. Let’s hope some of his teammates follow his lead, because he was excellent.
