Rasmus Hojlund looks set to make his Man United debut this weekend, either off the bench or as a starter…
Manchester United fans have been chomping at the bit to see what Rasmus Hojlund is made of. The young Dane, signed from Atalanta in a big money deal, is yet to play due to injury.
Erik ten Hag is no doubt eager to see whether the young man is ready to lead the line for the biggest club in the world. Now, the 20-year-old has had some training under his belt and is nearing a return to action.
It seems like a good bet that Hojlund is now ready to make his debut vs Arsenal on Sunday – though will it be as a starter or off the bench?
Well, Ten Hag has confirmed that the United player is ‘ready to start’, despite the fact he’s had no pre-season or any meaningful minutes…
Check out what Erik ten Hag had to say on Rasmus Hojlund here:
We had a good training week and on Saturday we have the final training,” said Ten Hag, per The Mirror. “He’s doing well so he will be available.”
“I think he’s ready to start. For every player there is a big spotlight. At Manchester United you have to perform, in every position, for every player.”
Risky? Probably, but when you’re young, you play without really overthinking it. Hojlund must have shone in training this week if Ten Hag is giving serious consideration to starting the young man away at Arsenal for his debut.
Perhaps this is mind games from the gaffer, as he looks to give Mikel Arteta and his coaching staff something extra to think about. However, that hasn’t really been Ten Hag’s game since making the move to United so why should we expect him to start doing that now?
Honestly, I would not be surprised to see Hojlund out there from the start, but it does feel like a real roll of the dice.
