Man United are ready to listen to offers for Donny van de Beek.
Manchester United’s summer transfer window was decent. Nothing more. Nothing less. The four signings made on transfer deadline day were absolutely necessary, though some may consider them panic additions.
Perhaps the biggest necessity for the Dutch gaffer was to get rid of some dead wood. He did that somewhat, with the likes of Eric Bailly, Dean Henderson and Anthony Elanga all leaving. However, several fringe players on massive wages still remain at the Theatre of Dreams; including Donny van de Beek.
There’s still hope that the ex-Ajax midfielder leaves during this transfer window, with the Turkish transfer period still open.
ESPN provide the latest on that front. They state that Van de Beek has interest from Turkey, with Galatasaray and Fenerbahce keen. The Reds face a race against time to get a deal done, mind.
The United player has been told he’s ‘unlikely’ to have a role this season, following the arrivals of both Mason Mount and Sofyan Amrabat.
Sources have now told ESPN that the Reds are ‘willing to consider any offer’ for the Dutchman who impressed under Ten Hag at Ajax.
The verdict
We have to be realistic. Based upon what we’ve seen from Van de Beek at United, it’s going to be tough to generate any sort of big club interest. Hence, a move to somewhere like Turkey may be a wise plan to get his career back on track.
With time running out in the Turkish window, this could be a fast-moving transfer. It does make sense for all involved parties, as the Reds look to continue to steer clear of FFP violations.
