Man United are monitoring Evan Ferguson, as the Red Devils look to work two transfer windows ahead.
Just a day or so ago, we covered a story from the Daily Mail, claiming Manchester United were keeping a watchful eye on Brighton’s Evan Ferguson. That report reckoned the striker could be on the move next year.
Now, another Daily Mail journalist has given his take on Ferguson in regard to a potential Old Trafford switch. This time, it’s Mike Keegan. In a Premier League Q&A, Keegan was posed the question whether the Reds’ interest in Ferguson was concrete.
The journalist responded, by claiming that United are ‘monitoring his progress’ as they continue to ‘watch’ Ferguson, though that can be said about dozens of potential signings.
Keegan would add that United are currently working two transfer windows ahead, as they’re already looking at possible options for next summer. No doubt Ferguson is among those.
The striker plays with a real maturity beyond his years, already looking close to the finished article despite still being a teenager. This young man has all the tools to play at the highest level already.
The problem? Brighton are notoriously tough negotiators. You either pay their price or move on to other options. It really is that simple. In this case, you’d expect Ferguson will likely cost in excess of £100m, particularly if he has a good 2023/24 season. He’s under contract for the foreseeable future, too, so they’ll be no discount given due to a winding down deal. Either way, it’ll still be worth it.
United supporters will get a close look at Ferguson this weekend, with the Reds taking on Brighton at Old Trafford.
