Jadon Sancho is ‘open’ to leaving Man United in January, when the transfer window rolls around.
Manchester United’s start to the 2023/24 campaign has been disappointing – both on and off the field.
The whole club still feels like it’s in major disarray, despite Erik ten Hag’s best efforts…
Ten Hag is currently dealing with some off-field situations, predominantly in the right-wing position. Antony is away on leave right now, while Jadon Sancho remains out of the fold after a disagreement with the manager.
It’s no surprise then, to read that the 23-year-old United star is now ‘open’ to leaving the club in January. That’s according to the Manchester Evening News.
If the player remains ‘marooned’ until the New Year, the Englishman will look to secure an exit away from the Theatre of Dreams.
Sources close to the winger believe a transfer is in his ‘best interests’, with both Borussia Dortmund and Nottingham Forest identified as possible landing spots for the wide man. Sancho is reluctant to move to Saudi Arabia as he’s still only 23.
I have to be honest. All the question marks surrounding his attitude leave me seriously concerned. It’s the absolute bare minimum in professional football and if you’re not prepared to work, it’s going to make the situation harder for yourself, your teammates and your coaches.
The verdict
He’s going to leave within the next twelve months, so long as Ten Hag remains in charge. The Dutchman is massive on implementing his authority and Sancho has questioned that.
I just do not see the pair mending this relationship. Sancho strikes me as the type who will not back down, regardless of the fact that Ten Hag is higher in the pecking order.
