Man United would suffer their third defeat of the season, losing to Brightin in poor fashion. Here are our player ratings.
Andre Onana – Couldn’t do anything about either of the first two goals from close range. Was not helped by his defenders. You expect better for the third. 4/10
Diogo Dalot – Did well against Mitoma when defending, though was too slow getting back. Didn’t offer enough going forward. 3/10
Victor Lindelof – Had a decent enough game for large stretches. Did switch off on a couple of occasions. 4/10
Lisandro Martinez – Poor defensively, particularly for the second goal. You expect better from him. 4/10
Sergio Reguilon – Had a decent debut. Was always willing to bomb forward and get beyond Rashford down the left. 5/10
Casemiro – Had such a typical Casemiro game. Made some daft mistakes but also played some lovely balls forward. 5/10
Christian Eriksen – Showed the tricks and flicks with some lovely skill early. Was bypassed on a few occasions too easily. 5/10
Scott McTominay – Made a first start and looked leggy as the game wore on. Wasn’t really in his usual position and was often out of the game. 4/10
Bruno Fernandes – Blew hot and cold. Was at the heart of some good moves but also sloppy in possession on occasion. Didn’t track back as he usually would. 4/10
Marcus Rashford – Always trying to make things happen but the final decision often let him down, be it a wayward shot or making the wrong pass. 4/10
Rasmus Hojlund – Led the line fairly well. Held the ball up nicely. Had it in the net but was ruled out. Subbed after the hour to a chorus of boos. 6/10
Subs:
Anthony Martial – Didn’t really get into it.
Hannibal – Scored a pearler to offer a glimmer of hope.
Alejandro Garnacho – Not enough time to mark.
Facundo Pellistri – Not enough time to mark.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Not enough time to mark.
