Man United are looking to open contract talks with Erik ten Hag, offering a new deal to the Dutchman.
Manchester United Football Club are trying to find some stability after a turbulent decade post-Sir Alex Ferguson.
In Erik ten Hag, it looks like the Red Devils have a manager the can wholeheartedly trust. The Dutchman has started life in Manchester well, though the beginning of this season was tougher than we’d all foresee – for many reasons.
United are now looking to place a real show of faith in their man by offering Ten Hag a new contract. It’s 90min.com with the story.
The Dutchman’s current deal expires in 2025, with the option to extend it for a further year. However, it’s understood contract talks were always pencilled in for around eighteen months into his terms. Apparently, the club bosses have already ‘touched base’ with Ten Hag’s camp.
The powers that be are said to be ‘very happy’ with Ten Hag’s progress as manager so far, giving him their full backing, in the wake of some difficult situations he’s had to deal with. You look at the Mason Greenwood, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo sagas as some standout problems.
Ten Hag was brought in to address failing standards at the Theatre of Dreams. He’s absolutely done just that. The dressing room now recognise him as the boss who cannot be messed with.
Although a new deal may seem premature, it’s nice to see the club place real trust in the Dutchman. This backing in the manager is something that has often been lacking among both the club and supporters. This time around, it does seem as though everyone involved with the club realises that we have to place our full trust in the manager.
