Man United endured another disappointing evening, with the Red Devils losing 3-2 to Galatasaray. Here are our player ratings.
Andre Onana – You’d like him to do better for the Galatasaray leveller. He was just too far off his line. Also played a suicidal ball to the opposition, resulting in a Casemiro sending off. Not good enough. Also could’ve done better for the winner. 2/10
Diogo Dalot – Wasn’t strong enough as Zaha muscled him off the ball far too easily. 4/10
Raphael Varane – Marshalled his backline relatively well. Couldn’t do anything about the first goal. Megged for the second. 4/10
Victor Lindelof – Wasn’t really tested defensively until the second half. Caught up field for the second. Caught ball-watching for the third. 4/10
Sofyan Amrabat – Continued to cover every blade of grass for the cause despite officially playing at left-back. He looked good. 5/10
Casemiro – Looked on it from minute one. Didn’t give his opposite number any time or space on the ball. He used it well when in possession. Did lose his man for the Galatasaray second. Had to commit a red card offence as Icardi was clean through. 5/10
Mason Mount – Played well again. On both sides of the ball. His passing and movement were superb. Probably United’s best midfielder. 6/10
Hannibal – Energetic. You couldn’t fault his effort. Always worked hard for his team and led the press. Surprisingly subbed at half-time. 5/10
Bruno Fernandes – He was predominantly out on the right but it just doesn’t work as he doesn’t see anywhere near as much of the ball. 4/10
Marcus Rashford – Looked lively. Played in the cross for the Hojlund opener. Drifted all across the front line. 6/10
Rasmus Hojlund – Led the line brilliantly. His hold-up play was excellent at times. Took his first goal well. His second was even better. Also had one disallowed. He was outstanding. 9/10
Subs:
Christian Eriksen – Kept it neat and tidy in midfield.
Alejandro Garnacho – Tried to threaten with his directness but wasn’t given many opportunities.
Antony – Not enough time to mark.
Anthony Martial – Not enough time to mark.
