Man United midfielder, Sofyan Amrabat, has suffered a fresh injury blow.
Just when you think it cannot get any worse for Manchester United, another problem arises. The story of the Red Devils’ season has been injuries. The Old Trafford side have been dealing with issue after issue on that front, with the international break meant to be a period of respite.
Sadly, the 20-time Premier League champions just cannot escape treatment table woes at the moment. Rasmus Hojlund limped off last night, Casemiro is another who picked up a knock although he does seem to be feeling better.
Now, the Moroccan media outlet, Al Ayam, have provided an update on another issue; Sofyan Amrabat.
United have been dealt a fresh injury blow as the 27-year-old suffered a problem while away with his country. The issue ruled him out of their game on Tuesday, though the extent of the injury, or the area that’s affected, is currently unknown.
Amrabat arrived at United on transfer deadline day injured and although he has played a few games since, this is another problem that the midfielder now has to deal with.
Timing-wise, it couldn’t be worse. United are without all of their first-choice back four meaning Amrabat had been filling in at left-back. With the Old Trafford side also struggling in midfield, being another man light in that area is less than ideal.
This is always the issue when any player goes into a campaign nursing injury issues. It’s a consistent race against time to get back fit and more often than not, these players never reach 100% fitness. Just look at Anthony Martial’s 2022/23 season as the prime example.
Hopefully, this is only something minor and Amrabat will be good to go at the weekend, but let’s wait and see what the gaffer has to say on Friday.
