Man United will not be able to call on Casemiro for the Sheffield United game this weekend.
Manchester United Football Club have been absolutely decimated on the injury front of late. The Old Trafford side have been without pretty much a full XI through treatment table woes to start this campaign. Obviously, that’s less than ideal.
Erik ten Hag will have been wanting to use this period as a time to get players back from injury. Sadly, it has gone the other way instead. Casemiro picked up a knock while playing for Brazil about a week ago, leaving us all worried. Pictures of the midfielder back in training eased those fears somewhat.
However, the BBC’s Simon Stone has shared an update on his fitness. Sadly, it’s not good news for United, with the star set to miss the Sheffield United game this weekend due to a ‘small issue’ that he did pick up while away with his country.
United have now given Casemiro permission to stay in his homeland as he continues to recover from the problem, though the club do not seen concerned about the issue in the long-term.
Man Utd confirm Casemiro will miss Saturday’s game at Sheff Utd with a ‘small issue’ picked up on international duty. Club have given him permission to remain in Brazil for treatment.

With a game against Copenhagen next Tuesday after Sheffield United this weekend, there’s little time for Casemiro to come back and return. I’d be surprised if he’s ready for that game at Old Trafford.
Instead, Casemiro is probably gearing himself up for a massive Manchester derby against City the Sunday following.
It’s just super frustrating to see United lose another player to injury during the international break. Rasmus Hojlund is another one who picked up an issue, while Sofyan Amrabat rumours were also swirling in the week.
Let’s just hope United are now starting to get players back, rather than losing some key first-teamers.
