Jadon Sancho will not be able to rescue his Man United career.
Manchester United Football Club have been coming under increasing pressure – both on and off the field of late. Erik ten Hag’s side have been struggling, while the club ownership situation still rumbles on.
The gaffer has been contending with injuries and off-field issues galore since the season kicked off. Particularly in that right-wing position. Antony was missing for some time. We all know what happened with Mason Greenwood. Then, you have Jadon Sancho.
The Englishman has been absent from United’s last nine matchday squads after a very public disagreement with the gaffer.
Now, according to The Mirror, the 23-year-old United player ‘is finished’ at the club. The Red Devils are now negotiating an exit strategy for the ex-Borussia Dortmund man. That will not change, even if Sancho does decide to apologise to the United gaffer and the club on the whole.
With January now just around the corner, the planning begins. I’d be surprised if Sancho leaves on a permanent basis in the mid-season window, purely because it’s not a time where you usually see big-money moves made.
More than likely, it will initially be a loan, with a view to Sancho leaving permanently next summer. The sad thing here is that due to his huge wages, United will probably have to subsidise his weekly earnings for the foreseeable future.
Sometimes, it just doesn’t quite work out for some players in certain situations. This appears to be the case, though there’s extra vitriol here due to the way it went down. It’s never pretty when it all plays out so publicly, with both sides having to front up and own their part of the blame.
