The FA would get pelters if they didn’t investigate it, which they currently are doing. United are ‘talking’ with the FA over the social media post that could potentially land Garnacho in hot water. That’s according to the gaffer.
“We are talking with the Football Association,” Ten Hag said, per the BBC. “But what you see, and I can confirm that and want to emphasise, we are together, we are united and you have seen that in the post of Andre Onana.”
The sad thing is that I can see Garnacho being hit with some sort of suspension for this. Despite the fact that there was no ill will or malicious intent from the talented winger. Onana himself has come out and defended his teammate, claiming that he knows Garnacho didn’t mean to cause any offence with the post.
I guess it’s just the naivety of youth. Garnacho meant no ill-will and the racist thought would have never have even crossed his mind. But this is the day and age we live in.
Can we just delete the gorilla emoji please? Nothing ever good comes from the use of it…
