Man United are hopeful they will have Aaron Wan-Bissaka back available for selection before the November international break.
One of the main storylines surrounding Manchester United’s season has been injuries. Erik ten Hag has been working without an almost complete XI of players for large stretches, with some important faces sidelined.
The treatment table woes haven’t really let up whatsoever. It feels like as United get one player back, they’ll lose someone else almost instantly. Defensively, the club has been working without their first choice back four, which is obviously far from ideal.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka has missed the last nine games through injury. His absence was hard felt on Sunday, with Diogo Dalot struggling against Manchester City.
Now, ESPN have provided an update on the Englishman, claiming that United are ‘hopeful’ of having the defender available before the November international break.
That international break is in three weeks’ time, meaning the ex-Crystal Palace defender genuinely isn’t too far away. Perhaps we could see him feature against Fulham next weekend, or at least make the bench as he begins to work back.
The ESPN story goes into more detail about United’s injuries in general, claiming that at one point, sixteen first-team players were missing. What’s interesting is that there are concerns within the dressing room that Ten Hag’s intense training sessions are partly to blame for the mounting problems on that front.
I don’t think the footballers have been helped by the schedule makers, particularly after the winter World Cup. I know these guys earn an awful lot money for playing a game that most of them love, but sometimes, the stress on the body can be too much. That does appear to be the case at United.
