Man United have eyes on Galatasaray right-back, Sacha Boey.
Manchester United Football Club made some important signings over the summer, though there’s still a long way to go for Erik ten Hag to truly have a dressing room he fully believes in.
Right-back is one of many positions of contention. Aaron Wan-Bissaka is the starter when fit at the moment, though when Ten Hag took charge, ‘The Spider’ was deemed surplus to requirements. Diogo Dalot has been steady at best since his arrival from FC Porto.
Now, Haberler (via Sport Witness), link United with a move for another full-back; Sacha Boey.
It’s said that United are ‘very keen’ on the 23-year-old right-back, which is exactly why they have already sent scouts to watch the player in action.
Boey impressed for his current club, Galatasaray, against United in the Champions League last month. Since then, the Red Devils have seemingly gone on to watch the Frenchman again.
Arsenal are also keen on Boey, with the Turkish club hoping a bidding war ensues between the two Premier League giants.
United interest in Boey could explain why Wan-Bissaka contract talks have seemingly gone quiet, at least for the time being. Perhaps Ten Hag is now once again questioning whether the Englishman has what it takes to play regularly in a team with genuine title aspirations.
Personally, I believe Wan-Bissaka is comfortably the best we have, though I’m not sure he’s good enough in the attacking third, despite recent improvements.
This strikes me as a deal that will not happen until next summer. United are skint right now and I do not foresee them making any big signings in the January transfer window. With that in mind, coupled with current form, I’d struggle to see how we’d beat Arsenal to Boey’s signature as they’d have Champions League football on the table. We, in all likelihood, will not…
