Marcus Rashford will be fit enough to play against Copenhagen in the Champions League tonight.
Manchester United and those famous Champions League nights go hand-in-hand. The Red Devils have endured the highs and lows of what top-level European football can bring.
This season, it has been tough sledding so far. Two early losses to Bayern Munich and Galatasaray leaves the Reds in a precarious position. The double-header against Copenhagen was always going to be two must-win games. They’re halfway there, with the away fixture taking place tonight.
Anything less than three points this evening and I can safely say we can kiss our qualification hopes goodbye. However, there has been some good news on the treatment table front ahead of this one…
United have been given a huge injury lift ahead of the crucial tie, with a key man ‘100%’ ready to play, according to the gaffer. Yes, Marcus Rashford is back available.
When asked if Rashford would be ready, the gaffer said:
“100% (ready). (He) missed one game with a small knock.” Ten Hag told the media, including Tribal Football.
The Englishman was spotted back in training ahead of the encounter, after missing the Fulham game at the weekend with an injury he sustained on Friday. Although the problem was only minor, it was enough to keep him out of the match-day squad.
Thankfully, he’d only miss one or two days due to the ‘heavy’ knock, with Rashford presumably pretty close to 100% fitness before the clash in Denmark this evening.
Usually, this is the type of situation where Rashy has typically thrived. With his confidence low, it’s tough to gauge what sort of Marcus we’re going to get this evening. That said, he’s a big-game player and his teammates need him. I’m fully expecting an elite performance from the Englishman – and hopefully one that can kick start his season.
