Chelsea are prepared to recall midfielder Andrey Santos from his season-long loan spell with Nottingham Forest in January, as per Standard Sport.
The young Brazilian showed plenty of promise during the pre-season tour of the United States but the Blues decided to loan him out.
French side Lyon were interested in taking him to the French top-flight, but the London giants preferred to accept the offer from Forest instead.
The decision has proved to be a big mistake. Santos has played only seven minutes as a substitute in the Premier League until now.
It is now reported that the Blues are giving serious consideration to the prospect of terminating the loan at the turn of the year.
If Steve Cooper remains reluctant to play him in the forthcoming weeks, the Blues won’t hesitate recalling Santos from Forest.
Mauricio Pochettino‘s side are most likely to send him on loan to another club. Lyon could revive their pursuit of the 19-year-old.
