Luke Shaw is seemingly closing in on making his Man United return after spending a few months out injured.
Manchester United’s season has been defined by injuries. The Red Devils take on Everton this weekend after a two-week hiatus due to international football. This was supposed to be a period where the Old Trafford side welcome some players back.
Instead, more players picked up knocks. Marcus Rashford went off injured while playing for England, with Andre Onana suffering an adductor problem when he was representing Cameroon. Thankfully, neither problem is believed to be serious.
The good news keeps on rolling in, apparently. It comes from talkSPORT, with the reliable Twitter/X page Centredevils relaying the information. We’ve trawled the web to find the original source, but it’s not online. Our only conclusion is that it was said on talkSPORT’s radio station. However, centredevils are a good outlet for United news, so I don’t doubt this latest report.
They state that the key man, Luke Shaw, is ‘expected’ to make his injury return vs Everton, giving United a welcome injury boost. The Englishman hasn’t played since the second game of the campaign, resulting in the Red Devils bringing in Sergio Reguilon on loan.

United have not looked good defensively without Shaw down that left-hand side. Although Reguilon has been decent, it’s clear that he isn’t as good as the regular Reds left-back.
There’s no way Shaw will be starting this game, so let’s get that out of the way with the information being somewhat vague. Erik ten Hag likes to protect his players and he would not risk losing Shaw for longer, by thrusting him in there too early.
I reckon we’ll see Shaw start among the subs. There’s a very good chance he doesn’t even get on the field, but having his presence in the match-day squad will be a massive lift. He’s one of the best in the business in his position and we have dearly missed his ability.
