Andre Onana is trending towards being fit enough to take on Everton this weekend.
Quite frankly, we’re sick of talking about constant injuries at Manchester United this season. Whether it’s a deeper issue or just bad luck remains to be seen. However, players keep going down with fresh problems.
Andre Onana suffered an adductor injury while away with Cameroon. He has since returned to Manchester after being ruled out of their second game during this international break. We’ve already covered one claim which stated that issue wasn’t as bad as first feared, thankfully.
Now, the reliable ESPN have followed that up with more good news. They claim that the important United player is now ‘hopeful of being fit’ for the game vs Everton this weekend after suffering that recent injury.
He returned to the UK on Sunday after the adductor problem, while Onana will undergo medical tests at United this week, before a final decision is made about whether he is fit enough to play on Sunday. The injury is not thought to be a muscle strain, which would take longer to heal, hence why he has a chance at being ready to go.
If Onana isn’t ready to play, it will mean a chance for Altay Bayindir, who was signed over the summer for this exact reason. The Turk will be feeling confident after playing well against Germany during the international break. Honestly, this wouldn’t be the worst situation, particularly as the ex-Fenerbahce man will be thrust into action in January when Onana heads off to AFCON with Cameroon.
Either way, it is god news to hear that Onana’s problem is not serious and he will be available again for selection in the not too distant future.
