Nemanja Matic has outed two Man United players who were always late for training during his time there.

Erik ten Hag’s job has been made infinitely tougher as a result. I know that he has to take some blame for the failings, though he is only a small factor as to why things are going completely pear-shaped.
A rot has been setting in for many years. There’s a core group of players who are willing to throw any manager under the bus as soon as the situation starts to go on a downward trajectory. That may be playing out again.
Now, Nemanja Matic has outed a couple of players who were ‘always’ late for United training; Jadon Sancho and Paul Pogba (surprise surprise…).
I’d love to say I’m shocked by the two names given by the Serb, though he did hint that there were more players who were always consistently late, thus, leading the ex-Chelsea man to form a disciplinary committee with Matic serving as the president.

“At Chelsea, players acted professionally, they were punctual and were never late for training but at United it happened almost every day,” Matic said on YuPlanet, per the MEN.
“Among the players who would always be late were Paul Pogba and Jadon Sancho and a couple of other players. The rest of us who were always on time were angry so we decided to form a kind of an internal disciplinary committee with me serving as its president.”
It may seem trivial to some, but punctuality is important. These guys are on hundreds of thousands of pounds a week and they cannot be bothered to turn up for training on time? It says a lot about their attitude. It explains why their on-field performances were so casual and lazy at times.
Obviously, Pogba is no longer here at the club, though Sancho does remain a United player. Him being late for training isn’t new information, as Ten Hag called him out on that fact in the past.
It’s just a basic requirement for any top player. I bet Pep Guardiola doesn’t settle for players turning up whenever they fancy. Nor should Manchester United.
Until the attitude and mentality changes, the problems will persist at the Theatre of Dreams. I’d like to think that our Dutch manager is doing his utmost to make that shift happen, though right now, he needs our backing. We cannot let this dressing room full of tyrants win again and get another manager sacked.
