Man United are in contact over a possible move to sign striker Serhou Guirassy.
Over the last week or so, Manchester United have been somewhat heavily linked with a move to sign Serhou Guirassy.
The striker from Guinea is having himself an excellent start to the campaign for VfB Stuttgart in Germany, scoring goals for fun from the number nine position.
Now, TuttoMercatoWeb have an update on that front, with Sport Witness providing the translations and relaying the information.
They state that United have now held ‘contacts’ about signing the 27-year-old striker ahead of the January transfer window.
With a release clause of around £15m, coupled with sixteen goals in eleven Bundesliga games, clubs were always going to take notice.
United are now in the picture for his signature, with TMW explaining that it’s bad news for AC Milan, who are also keen.
It’s unclear whether these contacts were with Stuttgart, the player himself or intermediaries, but United are definitely putting the feelers out there about potentially making a move for the in-form forward.
Guirassy is playing brilliantly at the moment and United could do with extra goals. I also like the fact that Guirassy is a little older than the likes of Rasmus Hojlund. That experience could definitely help out in an area of the field where United are quite young.
With such a low release clause, this feels like a no brainer at this current time. I still assume that any signings in January are directly linked with player sales first. The likes of Anthony Martial and Jadon Sancho could be out of the exit door, paving the way for a possible move for Guirassy. United would have to act quickly, though, with plenty of other sides sniffing around for his signature.
