Man United have identified Serhou Guirassy as a top candidate for a possible January transfer.
Manchester United Football Club are approaching a January transfer window, during which this squad could certainly improve if the right additions are made. Though here at Old Trafford Faithful, we believe money is tight, meaning no marquee signings will be made.
Erik ten Hag could look to make use of the loan system, just as he did both in last January and over the summer. He could also sell some players before he buys.
One player who has been linked with a potential United switch somewhat regularly over the last week is Serhou Guirassy.
Now, the man from Guinea is back in the headlines again. This time, Florian Plettenberg provides the latest on his future. He states that United ‘has inquired’ about signing the 27-year-old.
The player is now among their ‘top candidates’ for the winter window, with a fee of around £16m (€20m), enough to get the job done. There is no verbal agreement in place at this early stage, though that can change very quickly.

Guirassy isn’t someone I’d have loads of confidence in. He’s on fire right now, scoring goals for fun for VfB Stuttgart, though this is really the first time in his career he has been super prolific in that regard. To me, it feels like a hot streak, rather than someone who is consistently going to score goals.
When you weigh it up, this looks like a move in case someone like Anthony Martial leaves the club. The Frenchman has been underperforming for years, with United seemingly having a back-up plan in place in the event that he finally does depart.
