According to a report from Sport Bild journalist Tobi Altschäffl (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich could be looking to make significant changes to its midfield.
Ultimately, how much change occurs will likely be determined by whoever is names as the club’s next coach, but stalwarts like Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich could be in jeopardy, along with former RB Leipzig star Konrad Laimer.
Specifically, Altschäffl’s report names Goretzka as someone whose future in Bavaria is in limbo until a new coach is named:
From Bayern’s perspective, the club wants to make changes in midfield. How these changes will be implemented is a topic that will be discussed with the new coach, including Goretzka’s role. Although he wants to stay, Goretzka has to wait for the coach’s decision.
Aside of Goretzka, Kimmich has already been moved to right-back and Laimer has not been a regular in the lineup. Just about the only certainty is that Aleksandar Pavlović is in the club’s plans no matter who is named as a the next manager.
