Paul Scholes has savaged Jesse Lingard on social media after the former Manchester United forward posted several pictures of himself working out in the gym.
It comes as Lingard, currently a free agent, is searching for a new club after his contract with Nottingham Forest expired in the summer.
But it seems the 31-year-old has been working hard in training to improve his chances of securing a contract, with Lingard posting several pictures on his Instagram of himself working out in the gym.
Lingard was seen performing some pull ups, working on the rowing machine and performing some pressups in a state of the art gym in Dubai. He was also seen relaxing in a chair wearing a pair of recovery compression boots.
Scholes, meanwhile, showed no mercy to the ex-West Ham star, writing in the comments, ‘Are you just gonna f***about in the gym or are you gonna actually play football?’

Lingard has now been without a club since July 2023, having spent a year at the City ground after agreeing a shock £200,000-a-week deal back in 2022.
In his search for a new club, it was yesterday revealed that he ‘has been offered to Barcelona‘ and presents a viable economic option for the cash-strapped outfit.
According to Sport, his £1.7m salary would fit in with the Spanish club’s FFP restrictions.
Lingard has also been offered to a number of Ligue 1 sidesl, including Lille, while Everton have been interested in snapping him up.
The Toffees had previously warned their fans that this could be a quiet January for them, with the Merseyside outfit also held back on how much they can spend amid their financial woes.
He has been working on his fitness in Dubai, having also trained with Al-Ettifaq and Inter Miami
The 31-year-old has also offered himself to Barcelona in recent days in a bid to secure a new club
Despite that, Everton could look to give Lingard, who has over 200 Premier League appearances for three different clubs, a short term deal.
And while he has been without a contract for some time, the former England international has been training out in Dubai, having also trained with Steven Gerrard’s Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq for a month at the end of 2023.
He had also spent time training with Inter Miami in florida after the end of his time with Forest.
