The Everton board will be confident that they will avoid another Financial Fair Play breach after submitting their 2022/23 accounts.
That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that the Toffees will have learned from their previous breach to avoid any further punishment.
Everton were handed a 10-point deduction earlier this season after being found guilty of breaching spending rules in the Premier League.
The Merseyside club were required to submit their 2022/23 accounts by the 31 December under the new Premier League fast-track regulations.
The Premier League aims to deal with all financial breaches within the same season to provide clarity over any sanctions or punishments.
Any breaches found within 2022/23 accounts will be announced this Friday (14 January), with all cases due to be settled by April.
Maguire believes Everton will avoid any further punishment due to the sale of academy graduate Anthony Gordon.
“Everton shifted some big earners off their wage bill in 2022/23,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.
“They had the sale of Anthony Gordon, who was an academy product, which effectively gave them a £40 million boost as well.
“So one would hope for their sake that they will be in a more positive position from an FFP perspective, and it would therefore they should not be on the Premier League’s naughty step.
“There’s an awful lot of conjecture with regards to numbers and speculation, which never helps.
“I’m sure the club’s board, having been through the experience they did in 2021/22 regarding the intricacies of Financial Fair Play, will be confident that there will be no repeat of events.“
