Matt Law’s exclusive published earlier today revealed that Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly had been into the Stamford Bridge dressing room after a defeat last April and had called out Raheem Sterling for bad performances.
The PR counter war has gone into overdrive since, with Ben Jacobs (who is well connected to the ownership) insisting in a Tweet that “Sterling didn’t feel insulted by the interaction.”
Raheem Sterling remains committed to Chelsea, and #CFC to Sterling.
It’s true that an animated Todd Boehly spoke to Sterling after April’s loss to Brighton. It’s understood his comments focused on a lack of goals rather than questioning his leadership.

He drops another interesting nugget to follow that – apparently after arguing with Cole Palmer over who should take a penalty against Arsenal earlier this season, the winger then spoke to his younger teammate at training and “made it clear Cole should take the penalties.”
The 21 year old hasn’t missed one since, so it was a good move all round it seems.
We like to hear those stories from behind the scenes, even if they are just being deployed to pre-empt any fallout to the first story.
