Chelsea vice captain Ben Chilwell has revealed that Mauricio Pochettino is a “very demanding manager” and can lose his temper when he needs to.
The Argentine is still trying to win over sections of the Chelsea fan base with many not taking to the former Tottenham manager following his appointment last summer.
Winning the Carabao Cup on Sunday would go some way to getting more supporters back on side.
Chilwell, 27, has been speaking ahead of the showpiece event at Wembley and explained the 51 year old can raise his voice when needed, something the England international found out first hand during the Blues 1-1 draw with Manchester City last weekend.
The former Leicester man told The Sun: “Er, the Man City game when I didn’t play the ball over the top to Raheem Sterling. The ground was packed and I still heard him from the touchline.”
Chilwell added: “He is a very demanding manager, which is what you want of course.”
“He knows the players he can dig out and he knows the ones he needs to put an arm around. That’s the sign of a good manager.”
For Chilwell Sunday represents an opportunity to win a first domestic trophy with Chelsea since joining the Stamford Bridge outfit in 2020.
The left back has lost all three of his previous Wembley finals with the London club including two against Liverpool in 2022.
Chilwell has only made 15 appearances in all competitions this season after missing a large chunk of the season with a hamstring injury but will be key for the Blues on Sunday.
