It was an agonising defeat for Chelsea in the end at Wembley today, in a game they could have won.
Bad finishing cost them, as well as a bit of a lack of bottle in the final stages as they ran out of energy and ideas.
Some players put in a really good showing despite all that – Djordje Petrovic, Malo Gusto, Conor Gallagher, Moises Caicedo, Nicolas Jackson and Levi Colwill all had games that would have been praised had we got the ball into the net and won the trophy.
WhoScored had Petrovic at an 8.2 after some impressive saves. Gallagher, who was largely brilliant but missed two big chances, got a 7.7.
Colwill was given a 7.5, and he made some impressive defensive contributions in a tough game.
Jackson only got a 6.5, but we thought he was actually one of our better performers. A lot of his hard work didn’t show up in the stats, and so wasn’t rewarded with a higher mark.
