We’re constantly writing transfer rumours about big name players potentially joining Chelsea in the summer, but it’s important to remember one very important factor.
The Blues need to sell before they buy, that’s the reality given our FFP/PSR situation.
The good news is that there are plenty of assets we can shift. Ben Jacobs’ piece for GiveMeSport outlines how we can raise £100m without even having to sell Conor Gallagher.
He reckons that Romelu Lukaku, Lewis Hall and Ian Maatsen will be the first group out of the door, and could raise that sort of money between them.
The problem of course is that when other teams know you have to sell, they’re not inclined to offer much at all. So these numbers may end up being fanciful. But Lukaku has proved his ability to score goals over many years, Maatsen is having a really good loan and Hall is young and talented enough to raise a chunk too.
