Cole Palmer is excited for the future and believes there is “so much talent” at Chelsea.
The 21 year old was named man of match in last night’s 3-2 win against Newcastle and was once again the standout performer for the Blues.
The England international scored his 11th Premier League goal of the season and also registered his eighth assist of the league campaign as he goes from strength to strength.
Palmer registered an assist early on with his shot cleverly flicked in by Nicolas Jackson before his smart finish restored Chelsea’s lead in the second half.
There has been a lot of criticism of Chelsea’s expensively assembled young squad and the club’s project but Palmer believes in the vision and the quality of both players and manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Speaking to the club’s official website after last night’s game he said: “I think there is so much talent at Chelsea, the way that the manager works with us on the pitch, and the things he does with us, it’s only going to get better.”
“I’m sure if not next season, the season after, it’s a project, everyone is young and everyone is trying to play well so you will see it sooner or later.”
“We’re still in the FA Cup, hopefully we’ll win on Sunday and get to Wembley again. We’ll take each league game as it comes, hopefully climb the table and you’ll never know where we finish.”
