Former Chelsea defender Mario Melchiot believes Cole Palmer has “no fear.”
Palmer put in another impressive performance against Newcastle this week as he grabbed a goal and assist.
The 21 year took his Premier League tally for the season to 11 goals and 8 assists as he was named man of the match.
The versatile attacker has been a revelation since his summer move from Manchester City and has seen his form this season rewarded with a call up to the England squad where he made his debut against Malta last November.
Palmer has been winning plaudits from far and wide as he continues to enhance his reputation in the game and former Blues defender Melchiot was very impressed with what he saw from the Chelsea star this week.
Melchiot was particularly impressed with how good the England international is with the ball at his feet.
Speaking on ESPN he said: “He comes into a team that is not that confident, the way he is playing, he has no fear. He doesn’t think about anything. He picks the ball up anywhere he wants.”
“If he wants to dribble, he dribbles. If he wants to do something else, people believe in his ability. I think that is one of the key things for him.”
“Where he picks up the ball he’s dangerous.”
Palmer will be back in action on Sunday as Chelsea look to book their return to Wembley with a win against Leicester in the FA Cup quarter final.
